Celebrate Earth Day
with Keep North Charleston Beautiful
Join Keep North Charleston Beautiful as we celebrate Earth Day with the launch of our Food Forest at Charleston Farms! Volunteers are needed to help with planting, landscaping, and preparing garden beds for future plantings! There will be lots to do, with plenty of tasks for all ages. (Please remember, volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)
Date: Wednesday; April 22, 2026
Time: 8am-7pm
Location: Charleston Farms Community Center (1633 Sumner Ave.)
Volunteer opportunities will be available all day - sign up for a few hours or the full day if you’d like! Individuals and groups welcome!
We will kick off our volunteer activities at 8am.
At 11am, we will take a short break to officially launch our Food Forest at Charleston Farms, with invited media and guest speakers, including Mayor Burgess.
We will resume volunteer activities at 12pm.
We will wrap up our work in the food forest around 4pm.
Anyone interested in volunteering after 4pm can assist with our Gardening 101 workshop, which will take place from 5-7pm, in collaboration with Yellowstone Landscape. This workshop is full, but a few volunteers are needed to help attendees with planting container gardens, identifying plants, and carrying pots back to their cars at the end of the workshop.
Parking for the day will be very limited, so carpooling is recommended. We do plan to have off-site parking and shuttles available, along with street parking in front of our office. Additional details will be provided to all registered volunteers closer to the event date.
Thank you for helping us to Keep North Charleston Beautiful and keep our community clean, green, and beautiful for everyone to enjoy!
